Luis Suarez fined for allegedly biting Italian player Giorgio Chiellini888 Poker the online gaming operator has announced that its sponsorship deal with the Uruguay and Liverpool footballer Luis Suarez has been terminated following an incident during a World Cup football match. Suarez had only become a worldwide ambassador for the online website 888poker just about a month ago and he had produced some videos for the site during the World cup. The FIFA four month football ban on the footballer for biting another player during a World Cup match means that he is now out of the tournament.

Not the first bite

FIFA, the international association football governing body, has banned Luis Suarez from nine international games and from all football for four months. The player has also been fined for allegedly biting Italian player, Giorgio Chiellini at the Uruguay – Italy World Cup match recently. It appears that this isn’t the first time that Suarez is said to have bitten other opposition players during a match. In 2013, the Liverpool player was given a ban of ten matches for biting Branislav Ivanovic, a Chelsea player. Four years ago, when playing for Ajax, Suarez was banned from playing seven games after it was alleged that he bit the Eindhoven footballer, Otman Bakkal during a match.

Suarez could lose even more

888poker (same group of 888 Casino) is not the only company to have a sponsorship deal with Luis Suarez and even though the online gaming operator reacted immediately in ending its dealings with the banned footballer, there could be more losses on the way for Suarez. The footballer’s commercial deal with the sports company, Adidas could be in jeopardy after the latest biting incident. Adidas gave him a reminder of his responsibilities after his behaviour during a match last year and now after this latest biting incident has repeated that it will be reminding him once again. It has also been claimed that his future at Liverpool football club could be under consideration in the light of the FIFA ban and the seriousness of the incident. Suarez has stated in public that there will never be another biting incident but even so, he stands to lose out greatly.
