Bet365, the United Kingdom based privately owned betting and gaming company has posted an increase of 81 per cent in its yearly profit making it one of the largest gambling companies in the world. The company, which is based in Stoke- on – Trent in England is owned by the Coates family and has been in operation since 1974 when Peter Coates opened its first betting shops. The betting shops were sold in 2005 which was five years after the Coates family comprising the company’s Chief Executive officer, Denise Coates, her father Peter Coates and her brother John launched Bet365 as an online gambling operator which has grown to become a leader in the sector employing over 2500. Bet365’s major increase in revenue over recent years placed the Coates family with a value of 1.2 billion pounds on the 2014 Sunday Times Top Track 100 League Table as the first gambling billionaires in the United Kingdom.
Second year of huge increase in profits
Bet365 saw a rise in revenue of 38 per cent bringing this to 1.28 billion pounds. The company’s profit this year came to 320.9 million pounds which was up 141.9 million pounds on the profit for 2013. Bet365 offers players online casino games, sports betting, poker, gaming and bingo. Bet365’s casino revenue increased by 35 per cent for the year ending spring 2013 and this casino income rose by 17 per cent in the year ending spring 2014. All in all Bet365 is a major success as a British company and it is one of the few online gambling operators that continues to pay its taxes in the United Kingdom. Unlike most other internet gambling companies that have moved their operations off shore Bet365 has stayed and the company is constructing a new headquarters building in Stoke – on – Trent. Bet365 holds several gambling licenses, the online casino, poker and gaming operations are licensed in Gibraltar while sports betting is licensed by the United Kingdom Gambling Commission.
