William Hill has a new Chief Executive Office , James Henderson, since last week when he replaced Ralph Topping who had been with the company for over forty years.

Large part of profit comes from online operations

Almost a third of William Hill’s revenue for the first part of this year came from the company’s internet operations. It offers online casino games including roulette, baccarat and blackjack, slot machines, online bingo and poker and sports betting. Income from online sports betting rose by 41 percent which is in contrast to lower results from William Hill’s traditional sports betting shops which are facing increases in taxes and also in controls of the shops by the British authorities. William Hill launched its online casino in 2000 and formed a partnership with PLaytech in 2008. Now the William Hill Online Casino is run on Playtech while the company’s live casino runs Evolution Gaming software. In all, just over 50 per cent of William Hill’s operating profit comes from its various sports betting and casino based online operations.
